Photoshop CC – its a full update for the excellent image editor – its really looks like a new feature. There are many things that have changed, not just in the way they look, but also in the functionality of the software. Such as the new brushes feature – this allows you to create new brushes faster and more easily. The photo retouching feature allows you to tamper, make adjustments to your photos, like tone, contrast and vignettes, and finally the new tutorial feature allows you to learn all the different layers in Photoshop. There are also improvements to the new layers used for blending and the adjustment layers such as colour gradients and shades, as well as you can now use the adjustment layers for more things like vignettes, levels, saturations, and more. In addition to that, the selection tool has been improved as well as the selection brushes, the new project feature allows you to create your own strong image, then export it as a gif or jpg and share it with your friends on social networking sites.
The very last TIFF 16-bit RAW image shot on my 5D Mark IV as it lay hanging on my neck was processed using the new TIFF 16-bit RAW format from Photoshop CC. So, I was able to smooth skin and retouch the face, then export the 16-bit TIFF file back to the image.
A minute later, I was done – the entire, once black, now semi-translucent portrait was deep blue. This is because the Canon lens distortion is at least 2x. In CS6, the software automatically fixes the lens distortion without any adjustment.
My pictures were exposed on a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, but the final result was consistent, including the lack of lens distortion. At full strength, the same pictures were each in the neighborhood of 5.6EV – meaning the shadows are nearly invisible in a good working environment. With a phone, mobile device screen, projector screen, or web browser, you should be able to see the entire portrait easily.
Sometimes, the biggest difference between two similar software packages is in how dependable certain parts of the software are. You don’t hear complaints about Lightroom from the same people who gripe about Photoshop. For better or worse, Lightroom’s stability is comparable to that of other applications. In fact, Lightroom has a very low error to operation rate — 1.0 on a scale of 1-10. The next highest version, according to the same statistics, is Lightroom 4.4’s rate of 2.9.
Adobe Photoshop CS6 is more reliable than CS5 and substantially more stable than it was in CS5.6. It was a polished product when CS5 was released. In CS6, it’s an even better performer. So smooth that it feels lighter, it almost balances out the fact that it uses a decent amount of RAM.
When you hear Photoshop, you’ve probably thought of images with lots of image layers and spinning splines and curves, and that’s certainly true of the ideal destination for a lot of people. It is by far the most powerful, flexible, and versatile application in the whole software industry. As I said before, it’s a powerful tool to manipulate the look of your images in the way you want. However, depending on how you edit and how far you progress, the images can quickly become a little bit much, a little bit complicated, and therefore very difficult for your clients to look at, and especially in competitions where strict quality is crucial.
Layers are arranged in layers and you can move them up, or down, or all the way off screen if you don’t want them to be visible. They’re the fundamental part of the whole Photoshop editing world; they’re the means of storing the data of an image. You can add, duplicate, hide, remove and move layers to create a workflow that works for you. These days, whenever you design, edit and share photos digitally, you’re working with layers in Photoshop, and if that is the case, use the Channel Mixer, and Layer Mixer, to edit them in groups. After that, and this is a tip you’ll see a lot if you start using Photoshop; if you duplicate a layer, you’ll notice that the same items will be on two channels. For example, the green of the grass and the yellow of the sun are duplicated and saved together. In Lightroom, you would duplicate the grass layer and then edit just the grass layer to remove the yellow of the sun, and if you’re using Photoshop, you can do the same for the wood, the sky and the grass. This is where the Channel Mixer and Layer Mixer come in handy.
Additionally, the updated version of Studio—the web-based design and deployment tool—now centers around the design of the application. The new Snap tool in both CS6 and CC makes it easier to coordinate the eyes and face so your characters look more natural. You can now even merge overlapping elements together in a single click, and you can quickly adjust relative size of elements in your selection.
